Pacifica Quartet to perform at SMS

The world-renowned Pacifica Quartet will perform from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, Sept. 23, at the Salem Middle School auditorium. Admission is free, but seating is limited.

The quartet has been performing for 25 years and was named the quartet-in-residence at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music in March 2012 and was previously the quartet-in-residence at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They received a Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music Performance and have won numerous awards before and since.

Simin Gantra and Austin Hartman play the violin, Mark Holloway plays the viola and Brandon Vamos plays the cello.

This performance is part of the Indiana University Center for Rural Engagement.
