Duke Energy customers may be affected by power outage

Duke Energy must take an extend power outage today as the result of a vehicle accident that damaged a major utility pole.  It will begin at  approximately noon today and affects about 800 customers in the Hardinsburg, Fredericksburg and Milltown areas. 

"We expect the repairs to last until approximately 6 p.m.," said Bruce Calloway, a manager with the company. "We apologize for any  inconvenience from the outage and are working to repair the equipment as safely and quickly as possible.  If our customers have any questions, we ask they please call our customer care center at 800-521-2232."
