Learn how to find and train your next employee at WCEGP member meeting

Washington County Economic Growth Partnership Executive Director, Sabrina Burdine said a question she is frequently asked is “What is the partnership doing about workforce development and availability issues?” Attracting, hiring and keeping talented people is not just an issue in Washington County, but nationwide.

WCEGP has invited Work One and Ivy Tech, who both have offices in Salem, to talk with members about training programs and scholarships that are available in Washington County at the first quarter member meeting on Thursday, March 15. Staff from Salem High School will also share how the school is working with local industry, and how to better strengthen that relationship.

Other topics at the meeting will be an upcoming salary and benefits survey, tourism attraction, and a local job fair.

The membership meeting will be held at the Salem Senior Center, 1701 Shelby St., beginning at 11:45 a.m. and will conclude by 1:30 p.m. For lunch purposes, please RSVP to Burdine at 812-883-8803 or email sabrina.burdine@wcegp.org.
