Holiday weight gain is just around the corner and Washington County WOW is here to help!

The annual Maintain No Gain program will kick off Nov. 19 with the first initial weigh in. Maintain No Gain is a seven-week weight management challenge designed to encourage people to not gain weight over the holidays.

So far, 14 teams have signed up: Knapp Miller Brown Insurance, Salem Community Schools, Jeans Extrusions, Washington County YMCA, Eddie Gilstrap Motors, Washington Center, Washington County Purdue Extension, Vision First, Borden Schools, West Washington Schools, Hoosier Hills PACT, Washington County employees, GKN and Leader Publishing Company.

All weigh-ins, initial, ending and weekly, will be done at the same time of day and at the same location using the same scale. After each weekly weigh-in, every person who is within the two pound limit, will be placed in a drawing for three separate prizes: two different Fitbits and a Pacers and Racers gift card. Failing to maintain the two pound limit for one week will not disqualify a person for future weeks. You may miss a week and continue participating.

The final weigh-in will be held Jan. 2. The three drawings will be held after the final weigh in.

Weigh-in stations for Maintain No Gain are: Anytime Fitness, YMCA, WIC and at individual team employers.

While weight loss is allowed, it is not the goal of the challenge.

Sponsors for this year’s program are: GKN, Leader Publishing Company, Jeans Extrusions, Knapp Miller Brown Insurance, YMCA, Jason Wade State Farm, Mitchell Opera House, Eddie Gilstrap Motors and Pacers and Racers.

T-shirts are guaranteed to all who pre-register. Packet pick up and race day registration will be from 8:30 a.m. until race time. The race will start at Anytime Fitness. Prizes will be awarded to the first overall male and female finishers, as well as age group winners, both male and female. For more information about the race call 812-883-4747.
