Salem Apothecary is currently unable to fill prescriptions. The state has suspended pharmacist Rebecca Marshall's license, effective May 24-July 8.

Marshall said the issue involves paperwork and recordkeeping regarding refrigerator temperatures and disposing of expired medicines. She said she is set to appear before the state board on July 8th and hopes she will again be filing prescriptions by July 10. For now, she is assisting patients in having their prescriptions filled at other locations.

The Apothecary remains open and ready to help customers with over the counter medications and supplies, as well as gift items and providing lunch and ice cream at the soda fountain.
