Easter services and egg hunts

It might not feel like it but Easter is indeed this weekend. Here are some of the church services and activities you can attend to celebrate.

Salem United Methodist Church downtown on the brick at 10:30 a.m. There will be celebration worship music along with choir music and an organ/piano duet. We will have Easter gift bags for the children at the Children’s Moment.  Rev. Linda Watson will give an Easter message followed by Holy Communion which is open to all Christians.”
A Maundy Thursday Worship Service with the Salem United Methodist Church and the Salem Presbyterian Church at 7:00 p.m. held at the Presbyterian Church.  It will be a Tenebrae Service remembering what Jesus went through His last night on earth.  The two choirs will join together to sing and lead the congregation in this meaningful worship experience.  All are welcome.
Christian Heritage Chapel, 25 N. Heritage Chapel Rd., will hold a service on Good Friday, March 30, at 6:30 p.m.On Saturday, March 31, an Easter egg hunt will begin at 11:30 a.m. The event will include lunch, crafts and peep fight. On Sunday, April 1, the church will hold a resurrection service at 10 a.m. For more information, call 812-883-6494 or text 812-736-0024. The church offers a bible study on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. and youth group every Sunday at 6 p.m.
Everyone is invited to Canton United Methodist Church Easter sunrise service on Sunday, April 1, at 7 a.m. Breakfast will follow at 8 a.m. Regular worship service will be held at 9 a.m. and Sunday School for all ages at 10 a.m. The church is located at 1412 N. Canton Rd.
The 8th annual Cross Across the County will be held on Good Friday, March 30, starting at 6 a.m. This year’s route will start at Mill Creek Baptist Church, Highway 56 West, and continue to Big Springs Church of Christ off Highway 135 South for the community Good Friday service at noon. Mill Creek Baptist Church, Hwy. 56 West, will hold a Good Friday Service at 7 p.m. March 30. On Saturday, March 31, an Easter egg hunt will take place at 11 a.m. with lunch to follow.A sunrise service will be held Sunday, April 1, at 7: 30 a.m. with breakfast to follow.
On Good Friday, March 30, Salem Presbyterian Church will have the sanctuary open for prayer and candle lighting from 12 to 3 p.m. On Easter Sunday, April 1, at 10:30 a.m., the Salem Presbyterian Church choir will present its Easter Cantata “The Call” and communion will be served. Salem Presbyterian Church is located at 110 N. High Street.
On Good Friday, March 30, New Hope United Methodist Church will be open for a time of reflection and prayer. Pastoral staff will be on hand for those wanting to be prayed for or with. At 7 p.m. the church will show the movie, “The Case For Christ.” On Easter Morning, April 1, the church will have a Sonrise service at 8 a.m., which will be followed by a pitch-in breakfast at 9 a.m. The service will begin at 10 a.m.; the choir will present the Easter Cantata. Legacy Church will be hosting the 12th Annual Easter Egg Event on March 31, from 12-4 p.m. at the Salem Community Park. This event started with around 4,000 eggs and has grown to over 12,000 eggs filled with candy and prizes.  Legacy Church provides an egg hunt for all ages and will have a special needs egg hunt again this year as well. There will be drawings for prizes such as tickets from the Louisville Zoo, Indianapolis Speedway, cinemas, bicycles, and much more. Westside Baptist will host an Easter egg hunt at Depauw Park Saturday, March 31, at 10 a.m. Refreshments will be served following the hunt. For more information, contact Betty Hardwick at 812-620-2246.
Canton Christian Church Life Center, 1352 N. Canton Rd. S., will hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
