Halloween events planned this weekend
Several family-friendly events have been planned for Halloween this Saturday night. Check out the list of activities below:
City of Salem Halloween
The city’s Halloween festivities will take place in the pioneer village from 5-6:30 p.m. Several community groups will be handing out candy throughout the village. The event is open to the public.’
YMCA festivities
The YMCA is hosting its annual Halloween event from 5-6:30 p.m. at their facility on North Shelby Street. There will be candy, games, crafts and more. This is a free event for the community.
Halloween Parade
The Halloween Parade will be held Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The parade will start at the Bingo Hall and make its way down Main Street to the square and then conclude on Walnut Street.
Pumpkin Walk
The Pumpkin Walk will be held around the Salem square this year from 5-9 p.m. Washington County Tourism is providing free pumpkins for the community Wednesday, Oct. 24, beginning at 3 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 26, until 6 p.m. Pumpkins may be entered for the walk at Purlee Plaza from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. There will be cash prizes for winners.
Haunted House
Amber’s Dance Studio will hold a haunted house at the studio Saturday, Oct. 27. The haunted house will open after the Halloween parade, which begins at 6:30 p.m.
Donations will be taken at the door to enter. All money raised will go to help the Salem Middle School and Salem High School dance teams. Amber’s Dance Studio is located on the square.
Trunk or Treat
Posey Fire Company is having a Trunk or Treat Oct. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Station 1 on Radcliff Road.
