Lick Creek Band benefit concert

The Salem United Methodist Men’s Group is once again sponsoring the Lick Creek Band to do a benefit concert on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Salem United Methodist Church. The church is located at 202 East Market Street on the brick street just off the town square.  

Lick Creek does a variety of music calling it “Eclectic Acoustic Music.”  They started out 20 years ago playing blue grass but have grown to appreciate a wide variety of styles of music. The group consist of Eric Harmon, Alice Wootton, Bill Wheeler and Bill Nevels.

Nevels is from Salem and attends the downtown Baptist Church. Lick Creek Band consist of vocal harmonies, guitar, string bass, ukulele, harmonica and several rhythm instruments. They will be playing several of their popular songs along

with adding some Christmas songs for the concert. There will be a free-will offering taken for the Washington County Food Bank. After the concert the community is invited downstairs to the newly-renovated church basement for some Christmas refreshments.
