Johnny Appleseed will be back this year to give talks in the village school house.

The 143rd Annual Old Settlers' Days Festival is this weekend, Sept. 15, 16.

Visit the pioneer village at the Stevens Museum for a weekend of good food, live entertainment and to take a step back into the pioneer days.

The festival will officially begin with the opening ceremonies at 10 a.m. on Saturday and close at 5:30 p.m. Things will start back up at noon on Sunday and the festival will end at 5 p.m.

See the special section with all the things you need to know about this year's festival, including a list of vendors and the entertainment, in today's issue of The Salem Leader, on newsstand this evening.
