SR 160 Bridge to close for 30 days on July 11

Indiana Department of Transportation’s contractor is scheduling crews to being operations at a bridge replacement site on State Road 160 near South Boston on Wednesday, July 11, weather permitting.  At that time, the highway will close for up to 30 days.

INDOT’s state highway detour reroutes motorists via S.R. 135, S.R. 56 and U.S. Highway 31.

Weddle Brothers, Indiana’s contractor for this $542,430 bridge replacement project, will remove and replace the S.R. 160 structure over a branch of Blue River—located 5.6 miles east of S.R. 60.  The new structure will be a pre-cast reinforced concrete 3-sided structure with a 28-foot span.
