Stimulus package scam
The stimulus package has been approved and scams are already surfacing associated with the stimulus payments.
Calls have been received by area residents asking to “verify” their bank account info. Be assured that the IRS or any state revenue department will never call for this information.
Take a minute to talk to elderly parents and/or friends about the hoax and advise them to not give any of this information over the phone.
