Washington County Special Olympics donation drive

Washington County Special Olympics is having a donation drive on the Salem square Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds from this event will help fund year-round sports and training for athletes to compete in county, area and state competitions.

Also coming up are basketball sign-ups with practice beginning Nov. 18 at the Salem High School gym from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Washington County Special Olympics is excited to have a Unified Fitness Club! The club meets each Monday and Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Salem High School Field House. Athletes and volunteers walk, spend time together and communicate ways to get and stay fit.

Anyone wishing to donate or become an athlete/volunteer please contact the Washington County Coordinator, Ray Owen at soinwc@gmail.com; Assistant Coordinator Angela Phipps at aphipps@salemschools.com or visit soindiana.org. Online training through Special Olympics must be completed before volunteering.
