Colleen Banter, age 93 of Salem, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 7:40 am, in Brownsburg Healthcare Center, Brownsburg, Indiana
Born July 23, 1925 in Van Buren, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Ted and Velma (Lytle) Ballard.
On February 14th, 1953 she married Vaughn Eugene Banter, who passed away October 21, 1996
Colleen was a graduate of Van Buren High School, and had been a resident of Rossville, Indiana for the past 4 years, formerly of Salem.  She was a homemaker, a former employee of John Jones Auto Group in Salem and was a member of the Rossville Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Sue Cobb of Indianapolis; 1 Stepdaughter: Billie Cochran of Lafayette; 3 Granddaughters: Ingrid Banter of Brownsburg,  Melissa May of Indianapolis and Nikki Purdue of Greenwood;  2 Grandsons: Chris Fines of Rossville and Shayne Fines of Junction City, Kentucky. 11 Great Grandchildren: Madyson, Avery and Wade Fines, Breanna and Brennan Smith, Jenna Terrell, Olivia and Clara May, Delaney, Hudson and Monroe Purdue;  2 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Deborah Fines and 1 Son: Vaughn E. Banter II.

Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Thursday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Pastor Jennifer Lewis officiating, followed by interment in Mount Hebron Cemetery.

Visitation: 11 am until the time of the service on Thursday.
