Mr. Forrest “Joe” Walker Sr., age 79, of Fredericksburg, passed away Saturday, August 17 at Baptist Health Floyd.

Mr. Walker was born November 5, 1939 in Floyd County the son of Joseph E. Walker and Beulah Weatherholt Bustle. Joe was a retired dairy farmer. He was member of Smedley Church of Christ. Joe was a graduate of New Albany High School Class of 1959. He was a former West Washington School Board Member, and was known for his love of going to ball games and old car shows.

He is survived by his wife: Barbara Bush Walker, two sons: Forrest “Joe” Walker Jr. (Gina) of Fredericksburg, and Chuck Walker (Gina) of Salem, a step-son: Aaron Packwood (Melissa) of Campbellsburg, a sister: Peggy Miner of Columbus, six grandchildren: Wesley Walker (Rachel), Kayla Davisson (Andrew), Peyton Walker, Logan Walker (Olivia), Bailey Walker, Brittney Powers (Cade), a step-granddaughter: Tori Packwood, and two great-grandchildren: Hunter and River Davisson. He was preceded in death by his parents and two half-sisters:  Eleanor and Geraldine.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Smedley Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 9AM-until time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made to the West Washington Athletic Department.
