Fredrick L. Short

Mr. Fredrick L. Short, age 71, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, June 12 at Baptist Health Floyd.

Mr. Short was born April 13, 1948 in Floyd County, Indiana the son of Arvel and Earlene Hayes Short.  He was a retired machinist for Rampage in Sellersburg.  He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. 

Fredrick is survived by his wife:  Margie Holsapple Short.  They were married October 4, 2014.  He is also survived by a son:  Edward Short (Dina) of Paoli, four daughters:  Brenda Beyers of Ferdinand, Melissa Stroud of Paoli, Angie Fugate of Paoli, andTeresa Tucker of Sulphur, two step -sons:  William Dearborn (Carolyn Gilley) of Salem and Jason Holsapple (Kristy) of Scottsburg, a step-daughter:  Jennifer Dearborn (Bill) of Salem, three sisters:  Audrey May of Trafalgar, Indiana, Barbara Dugger of Fort Pierce, Florida and Mary Louise Holobaugh of Port St. Lucie, Florida, a step-brother:  Sherman King of Pekin, 10 grandchildren, 4 step- grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother:  Jimmy Arvel Short, a sister:  Frances Judy Higam and his parents.

Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
