Gayle "Brenda" Avery

Gayle “Brenda” Avery, age 63, Palymra, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, IN.

Brenda was born on November 13, 1955 in Louisville, KY to Carlton and Ethel Harvey. She worked as a support staff at Silver Crest Children’s Development Center in New Albany and for the former Butcher Boy Grocery store in Palmyra. Brenda enjoyed playing Bingo, doing floral art and crafts, and spending time with family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Barbara Singleton and Debbie Harvey, and a brother, Ricky Harvey.

She is survived by her husband Charles Avery, three sons; Charles David (Jody) Avery Jr., Troy (Monica) Avery, and Christopher Dewayne (Christy) Avery, and four sisters; Carla (Doug) Nevil, Lisa Tate, Diane Crawford, and Missy (Shawn) McGee. Nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at Love Funeral Home on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 12 p.m. Visitation will be at Love Funeral Home on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 2-8 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Abundant Life Memorial Gardens in New Albany, IN.
