James Edward Jones

Martinsburg: James “Jim” Edward Jones, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Meadowview Health and Rehab Sunday September 15, 2019. He was born April 18, 1934 to Herbert and Gloria (Sturgeon) Jones. Jim married Wanda (Freed) Jones on May 06, 2013. He worked at and retired from General Electric Company. Jim enjoyed woodworking, gardening, taking care of the cats, puzzles and spending time with the family.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Herbert Jones Jr., Harold Jones, and Howard Jones, three sisters Linda McCoy, Mary Richardson and Janet Jones, a half-brother Brian Jones and a great grandchild Shane Jones.

He is survived by his wife Wanda (Freed) Jones, Three sons, James Michael “Mike” Jones (Vickie), Phillip Jones, Mark Jones (Jennifer), a daughter Loretta Volpert (John), Five grandchildren Jason Jones (Kristie), Travis Jones (Katie), Amber Thompson (Brent), Damon Freed, and Sean Volpert. Three great-grandchildren Trevor Jones, Destiny Thompson, Gracie Thompson, and a great-great-grandchild Willow Jones, Two brothers Larry Jones and Roger Jones, a sister Ruth Ann Dunn, as well as three half-brothers Kevin Jones (Becky), Eddie Jones (Vicky) and Troy Jones. He also leaves behind his loving cat Butch.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 11:00am at Love Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Martinsburg Cemetery in Martinsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 4pm to 8pm at Love Funeral Home, and again on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. till time of service.
