Jerry Wayne Lainhart, 67, of Austin, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at his residence. He was born on April 16, 1952 in Salem, Indiana, the son of the late John B. and Katie (Spivey) Lainhart. In addition to obtaining his high school certification, Jerry earned an Associates Degree from Ivy Tech in Columbus, Indiana. He was married on October 6, 1972 to the former Eve Campbell.

Jerry was a retired support specialist for Cummins Engine Company in Walesboro, Indiana and a veteran of the Indiana Army National Guard.  He loved to watch NASCAR and his favorite driver was Kyle Larson.  In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie "Cash" Lainhart and a sister, Ica B. Wilkerson.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Eve Lainhart; a son, Nathan Wayne Lainhart (Jessica) of Woodbine, Kentucky; four brothers, Charles Ray Lainhart (Betty) and Jackie L. Lainhart (Marty) all of Scottsburg, Indiana, John B. "Jay" Lainhart (Brenda) of Austin, Indiana and Benjamin Lainhart (Darlene) of Gravel Switch, Kentucky; two sisters, Shirley Sears (Joe) of Salem, Indiana and Evelyn Laws of Groveland, Florida and two grandsons, Caden Tyler and Logan Wayne Lainhart. 

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Rodney Sweeney officiating.  Visitation: 10 am to 1 pm on Sunday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.  Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery near Scottsburg, Indiana.  Online condolences:www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
