Loretta Williams Handley

Loretta Williams Handley, 80, of Tamarac, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at University Hospital and Medical Center in Tamarac, Florida.  A longtime resident of Tamarac and Southeast Florida, Loretta was born on June 3, 1938, in Salem, Indiana to Edward Everett Williams and Mildred Hinds Gray who preceded her in death.
 
A graduate of New Bern (N.C.) High School and Spencerian College, she retired from Eastern Airlines at their corporate headquarters in Miami, Florida, after 32 years of service, and later worked for Republic Services at their corporate headquarters in Ft. Lauderdale.
 
Survivors include her daughter Tracy Bynum Torres (Joe), two grandsons, five great grandchildren of Port St. Lucie, Florida; a sister, Carolyn W. Bennett of Greenville, North Carolina; and a companion of 24 years, Robert Hagler of Plantation, Florida.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Lane Williams, and a stepfather, William S. Gray.
 
A celebration of life service was held on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at Horizon Funeral Home and Crematorium; 4650 N. Federal Highway in Light House Point, Florida.   A private interment service will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery at a later date.
