Margaret Rosalia (Addington) Davis age 80 of Salem, Indiana died Friday, May 29, 2020 at the home of her daughter Marketa Underwood.
She was born June 7, 1939 in Kingsport, Tennessee the only child of Milbourne Benton Addington and Vivian Beatrice (Neal) Addington.
She was a 1957 graduate of Gates City High School in Gates City, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Billy J. McMurray.
Surviving are one daughter, Marketa (McMurray) Underwood (Jay Brocksmith) of Salem; 2 sons, Hugh McMurray (Sherri) of Radcliff, Kentucky and Walt McMurray (Shariffa) of West Palm Beach, Florida; along with 9 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and her precious dog Sweet Pea.
The family would like to thank Rose's two special caregivers Kenna Howell and Margie Caldwell for taking such great care of her over the last few years.
Rose was very proud of the fact that she was the niece of the legendary "Mother" Maybelle (Addington) Carter, the "Mother of Country Music".
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Dawalt Funeral Home in Salem with Deacon John Jacobi officiating.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday.
She will be laid to rest at a later date at Horner's Chapel Cemetery in Washington County, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the:
