Melissa Blackford

Sellersburg: Melissa An Blackford, age 54, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital on November 12, 2019. She was born November 25, 1964 to Clifford and Rita Lynn (Schamel) Harl. Melissa married Charles Blackford on March 07, 1988. She worked at and retired from United Parcel Service as a package handler. She was a member of Faith Harvest Chuch in Greenville Indiana. Melissa was a Graduate of Floyd Central High School, class of 1982. She enjoyed Bargin hunting, Bingo, her church, and spending time with her Grandchildren.

Melissa is preceded in death by Her Mother Rita Lynn (Schamel) Harl.

She is survived by her father Clifford Harl, stepmother Robin Harl, Mother in law LaDonna Blackford, one son Zachary Josiah Blackford, daughters Ashley (Brian) Lortie, Brittany (Josh) Demoss, Bethanie (Apollo Morelos) Blackford, three grandchildren Braeden Lortie, Blake Lortie, and soon to be granddaughter Izabella Morelos, one brother Clifford Wayne (Kelly) Harl, three step siblings April (Justin) Geltmaker, Brandi (Rusty) Hublar, and Kyle Williams, as well as her beloved dog Sox and granddog Jax.

A Celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday November 16, 2019 at Faith Harvest Church in Greenville, IN
