Mont Sanders

Mont Thomas Sanders, age 87, Salem, Indiana, passed away at his home Saturday, October 6, 2018. He was born on November 2, 1930, in Campbellsville, Kentucky to Robert A. Sanders Sr. and Alma (Viers) Sanders. Mont was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He attended  Kay’s Chapel Church in Fredericksburg, Indiana.  Mont retired after 39 years at General Electric in Louisville, KY as a Safety Engineer. Mont was a 32^nd degree Mason and Kosair Shriner and had received his 65 year pin from the Louisville Masonic Lodge this year.

Mont was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Lillie Ruth (Mattingly) Sanders, two brothers: Robert A. Sanders Jr. and Jerry Sanders.

Mont is survived by one daughter: Nancy A. LaBella - Beck and one son: Monty Allen Sanders, one sister: Shirley Sanders, five grandchildren and six great- grandchildren also survive.

Funeral service will be held at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct 9, 2018, with burial to follow at the Palmyra Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday , October 9, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
