Robert (Bob) Melvin Durnil

Robert (Bob) Melvin Durnil, age 94, passed away on Sunday April 14, 2019 at Westminster Terrace in Louisville, KY.

Robert was born in Fredericksburg, IN on April 18, 1924 to William and Bertha (Bogle) Durnil . He was a high school graduate and attended college for a short time. Robert married Helen W. Durnil (Wood) on July 6, 1946. He was a member of the Army Air Force during WWII and later became an accountant working for the American Tobacco, Brown and Williamson Tobacco Co. and Kentucky Fried Chicken, where he retired from after 21 years of service. Robert was a fan of Major League Baseball and enjoyed watching the games.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of over 70 years and a son Martin L. Durnil.

Robert is survived by one son, Michael W. (Glenda)Durnil, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Direct cremation was chosen by the family and a private grave side service will be held later.
