Mr. Robert M. “Bob” Woodward, age 67, of Salem, passed away Friday, January 11 at Baptist Health Floyd.

Mr.  Woodward was born September 3, 1951 in Salem the son of Clifford Jr. and Doris Jean Barksdale Woodward. 

Bob started his work life early on, having a paper route at age 11.  He played drums in band during his high school days, and graduated from Salem High School in 1969.  He started working at Bennett’s Clothing and Shoes and stayed there until he was 21.  He then went on to work for Cummins, Avco and Colglazier’s Orchard.  He was a Loan Officer/Vice President for State Bank of Salem, INB, NBD, and Union Planter’s Banks.  He worked in security for Caesars and Netscape for 5 years. He retired in 2016 as Treasurer of Washington County.  He was a member of Salem Lions Club and served as President and Vice President, Western Hills Country Club, where he served as President and Treasurer, Bassmasters, Washington County Bow Club, Awareness Washington County, and Salem Air Board.

He is survived by his wife:  Sandra L. Colglazier Woodward of Salem.  They were married September 23, 1973.  He is also survived by three daughters:  Erin (Jim) Sparkman and their children:  Ryker, Maddox and Langston of Salem, Sarah (Mark) Sutton and their children:  Lucas, Jonas, and Kinley of Corydon, and Megan (Chuck) Heeke and their children:  Skyler and Hayden of New Albany, and a brother:  Alan (Patty) Woodward of Salem. 

He was preceded in death by his parents:  Clifford Jr. and Doris Jean Woodward, and a sister:  Sherri Woodward.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 3-8PM and Tuesday from 9AM-time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to WHAS Crusade for Children or Washington County Food Bank.
