Thelma Hendrich

Central Barren, IN: Thelma J. Hendrich, age 91, passed away peacefully at Beard Assisted Care on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.

Thelma was born on April 9, 1927 to Harry and Arminta Sappenfield in Bradford, IN. She was a 1945 graduate of Morgan High School. On September 20, 1947, Thelma married Eugene Hendrich. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before his passing in 2009. Thelma was a homemaker but also worked for many years in production for the old Wennings Meat Packing Company in Central Barren. She was a member of the Central Barren United Methodist Church. Her favorite pastime was shopping, especially at Kohl’s.

She is preceded in death by her husband, a son Brian Hendrich, her parents, and five siblings: Marvin Sappenfield, Lynn Sappenfield, Helen Lockenour, Dale Sappenfield, and Cecil Sappenfield.

She is survived by her daughter Donna (Scott) Siegel, a daughter-in-law Michelle Hendrich, four grandchildren: Stephanie (Chris) Diamond, Andrea (Jeremy) Pate, Shawn (Brooke) Jacobi, and Patrick (Jessica) Shawler, and six great-grandchilden: Shelby, Caleb, Journie, Luca, Deegan, and Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at Love Funeral Home on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be at Love Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Central Barren Cemetery.
