Windell “Doc” Stallings, 103, of Louisville, Kentucky died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, at BeeHive Homes of Scottsburg.

He was born Aug. 6, 1918, in Perquimans County, North Carolina, to the late Alfred F. and Allie Bunch Stallings.

Preceding him in death are his loving wife of 72 years, Georgetta, one son, Ronald Clark Stallings, five brothers and two sisters.

Doc was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was part of a non-denominational Christian home fellowship. He and Georgetta loved and appreciated the Sunday morning meetings that were held in their home for many years.

Doc was retired from American General (formerly National Life & Accident Insurance Company), and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

Doc is survived by his sons, Jack Stallings of Salem, George Stallings of Richmond, Indiana, and Gary Stallings of Butte, Montana, 8 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, Louisville. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will take place on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 10 a.m. in Resthaven Cemetery.
