Joint investigation leads to arrest of a 22 year old Salem man for sexual misconduct with a minor

Washington County-This morning, a detective from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg arrested Ryan Andrew Allen, 22, from Salem, IN. He was arrested on the charge of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, Two Counts.
 
He was arrested after a joint investigation between the Indiana State Police and the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department began yesterday, as a result of a complaint filed by the parents of a 14 year old girl from Bartholomew County. The complaint was made after the 14 year old came up missing from her home on February 10th in Bartholomew County and reappeared on February 11th. She allegedly ran away from her home to meet Ryan Andrew Allen. Ryan Andrew Allen allegedly made arrangements to meet the 14 year old via Facebook. After taking the 14 year old girl to Salem, IN and spending the night with her, he returned her home the next day.  When she returned home, the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department was contacted, who in turn, contacted detectives from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg to assist them in Washington County. After speaking with Ryan Andrew Allen yesterday, the detective from the Indiana State Police arrested him today. Ryan Andrew Allen allegedly knew the girl was 14 years old.
 
Ryan Andrew Allen was incarcerated at the Washington County Jail awaiting his first court appearance.
