Jason A. Brewer, 46, Salem, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 4, for child solicitation.

The arrest came about as the result of a juvenile girl reporting a case of sexual abuse to the Corydon PD School Resource Officer.

The probable cause affidavit obtained by The Salem Leader said the girl told police she and a younger friend witnessed Brewer watching porn when they were at his house on North High Street a few years ago. The girl also described an instance where one of the girls had Brewer’s phone and found a video of Brewer having sex and another instance in which Brewer exposed himself to the girl and asked if she wanted to touch him. The girl said she told him no and left the home.

When an Indiana State Trooper J. Smith spoke with Brewer, he denied ever molesting either of the two girls, but said he had struggled with being attracted to young children when he was a teenager. He admitted he still struggles with his attraction to children, but does “other things to take care of that.”

Brewer told Smith he had been arrested before for exposing himself when he was younger and was kicked out of the Navy because of it.

Brewer was arrested Jan. 4 on two counts of child solicitation. His bond was set at $10,000 full cash. He posted bond and was released the next day.
