Sheriff's department is working death investigation

On Sunday, March 18, at approximately 2:17 p.m. the Washington County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call regarding a possible death investigation at 6700 East State Road 60 Pekin, IN.  First responders arrived and found Steven L. Green, 72 of Pekin deceased. Green had been clearing debris on his property with a skid-steer (Bobcat) when he inadvertently crashed down a steep ravine. Green  subsequently succumbed to his injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by Washington County Coroner Peg Schell.  

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Larrimore is the investigating officers. Assisting are Sheriff Roger Newlon, Deputy Mark Blackman and Conservation Officer Neal Brewington.

Other departments involved are: Salem Fire Department, Pierce/Polk Volunteer Fire Department, Washington County EMS, Washington County Coroner’s Office and Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
