Emergency personnel were kept busy Friday afternoon with two wrecks that left vehicles upside down or on their sides in Washington County.

The first happened in Pekin, in front of J and R Liquors. More than a dozen firefighters and rescue workers responded.

A social media post from Pierce Polk Fire-Rescue said bystanders had the occupant pulled from the vehicle before they arrived. That person was transported to University of Louisville Hospital in stable condition. The post said the occupant was not wearing a seat belt.

"Had one been worn, there most likely would have been no injury to the driver," the post read. "Please take a moment and click that seatbelt before you drive."

The next wreck was reported around 4 p.m. on Highway 150 near State Road 66 in Hardinsburg. A semi truck and trailer rolled over down a ditch and into a field in front of the Bearcat Civic Center. It's unclear at this time if anyone was injured.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
