A Pekin youth is among the top 40 in the nation in the sport of motocross in the 4-6 year old division. Brentley Collier, 5, is headed this week to the prestigious Annual Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, presented by Lucas Oil, held each summer at the historic Loretta Lynn Ranch in Tennessee.

He's the son of Devin and Samantha Collier and has been racing since he was 4.

The Colliers spend most weekends traveling the Midwest to various races. Racers must qualify at one of eight regional events to earn a spot at nationals. His parents said they didn't expect him to qualify this year, but are absolutely thrilled that he did. A high placement at nationals is a huge boost to any racer wishing to pursue a professional career.

Brentley is just getting ready to enter kindergarten at East Washington this year and hasn't yet decided on a career path. He does, however, love racing, especially the hills on the courses and says it's "fun."

The Colliers wish to thank their sponsors, whom they said help make it all possible: Elite Heating & Air, MJ Auto, American Legion Post 335-Charlestown and Minton Cycles in Ohio.
