Thunder Blast wrapped up the racing season at Thunder Valley Raceway with two nights of racing action, Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct, 19.

Special races for Saturday night included a powder puff race, mechanic’s race, and gudge matches. Kids raced in a Power Wheel division, bicycle race, and a go-kart race.

In addition to racing, the race track hosted a family fun day on Saturday afternoon. “We started this last year,” track co-owner, Misty Leonard said. “It’s our way to give back to the fans and racing families who have supported us at Thunder Valley.”

Friday night winners included: Chuck Freeman, crown vics; Tad Canada, modlights; Josh Thomas, modifieds; Blake Durbin, outlaw 4-cyclinder; William McRoberts, pure stocks; Blake Durbin, stock hornets; and Travis Howe, super stocks.

Three enduro races were held Saturday night with Tommy Fleenor winning the hornets division, William McRoberts, pure stocks winner and Chuck Freeman, crown vic winner. The mechanic’s race was won by D.J. Russ and Cary McRoberts walked away with victory in the powder puff race.

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for this end of the season celebration. “The racing and weather Gods were looking out for us,” Leonard said.
