West Washington loses heartbreaking OT thriller, Salem wins tight game, Eastern blown out

Mitchell celebrates their buzzer beating win over West Washington in an overtime thriller. 

It was mixed results for all the of the county teams on Friday night. The Senators battled in a highly competitive game with the Bluejackets. West Washington took a 72-70 lead with 5 seconds left in overtime thanks to two free throws from Parker Green. But Mitchell ruined his heroics with a deep three pointer at the buzzer to win 73-72. 

Salem won a tight contest over Corydon 60-59. Salem lead after every quarter, but the Panthers tightened things up in the fourth quarter. The Lions were able to hold on to get the win. They will take on North Harrison on the road Satruday night. JV is slated to start at 5 p.m.

Eastern took one on the chin at Charlestown. Eastern hung tough in the first half, traling 31-19 at the half, but the Pirates laid the knockout blow in the third quarter, outscoring Eastern 14-5 to put the game away and hand Eastern the 69-36 loss.
