Wrestling Benefit for Cupp Family Saturday

Ohio Valley Wrestling will be making it’s way to Washington County on Saturday evening to help benefit a local family. The wrestling organization will be putting on a benefit for the Cupp family with proceeds going to help Ellie Cupp in her battle with cancer.
The night will be a family friendly atmosphere for fans of all ages. The doors will open at 6 p.m. with matches starting at 7. There will be at least six matches with a seventh possible match in addition. It will go for about two hours.
OVW owner and former WWF wrestler Al Snow said it will be fun night for everybody. “It’s a lot of fun. We encourage everybody to come out and watch. It’s very family friendly. You can bring your kids, your wife, or your grandparents. Any time you can see it live it’s a lot of fun. It’s different. It’s like a rock concert, a play, and a sporting event all in one.”
The idea to help the Cupp family came from Steve Eveslage. Snow said he was approached about doing something to help the Cupp family and immediately jumped on board. “He made the appeal to help them. We are more than happy to do what we can to help them...Without fans and community you don’t have anything. We want to give back as much as possible. You like to think that if you were in their position somebody would do something to help you out as well. It’s the least we can do for this family.”
This isn’t OVW’s first time doing events for philanthropic causes. They did an event in October with money going to the Susan G. Komen foundation to support breast cancer awareness. Last year they did their 1000th episode on TV and donated money towards juvenile diabetes, as well as the American Cancer Society.
The event will take place at Salem High School on Saturday night. Advance tickets are $10 and $15 at the door. For ticket information you can contact 833-477-6786 or www.ovwrestling.com
