YMCA introduces app

New app brings the Y to members 24/7; here, home and away

The Washington County Family YMCA is excited to announce a new membership perk - the Virtual Y app.

The free app was revealed to members on Thursday, Oct. 22. “The easy-to-use Virtual Y app allows members to create their own workouts, join community challenges, and create personalized nutrition plans,” said Krista Martin, operations director at the Y. “For members who may be new to exercise, the YMCA Personal Trainers can create customized workouts, and encourage members along the way--all in the app.”

There is also a PRO Status available, which includes on-demand streaming workouts and an extensive library of exercises to customize fitness routines. For a limited time, this will also be available for free to current YMCA members.

Current active members will be sent an invitation to join, and new members will be invited, as well. Upon membership cancellation, the Virtual Y will be deactivated. The Virtual Y app is available for Apple and Android platforms, and can be linked to an Apple Watch, Garmin, FitBit, and most other fitness devices. Simple instructions to download and link devices are available on www.wcfymca.org, or at the Y Front Desk.
