Reaching the midway point in the legislative process

By:
Steve Davission, State Representative District 73

The 2018 legislative session has reached the halfway point, and House Republicans have made great progress with our top priorities, including addressing K-12 funding, strengthening Indiana’s workforce, attacking the opioid epidemic and increasing government efficiency.

In addition to these legislative priorities, I’ve been working on legislation to legalize cannabidiol, or CBD oil. This new legislation would allow CBD oil to be sold and purchased in Indiana. Under this proposal, the state’s registry, established by the Indiana State Department of Health, would be repealed making CBD oil available to everyone. With some conditions, CBD oil has proven to have natural pain relief, anti-inflammatory and antipsychotic properties. To learn more, click here.

At this point, Senate bills will move to the House of Representatives for consideration, and House bills will cross over to the Senate.
