James Loren Hedrick (Mr. Smooth), 77, Tucson, Arizona died on Sept. 13, 2017.
Born in Borden on May 13, 1940, he was the son of Glen (Coonie) and Bessie M. Hedrick.
After college, he repaired band instruments and followed marching bands around Indiana. He worked in roofing and lightning rod installation. A guitarist, he played in California, Wyoming, Montana, Arizona, and Indiana with the Charles Kramer Big Band, Bill Wheatley and the Rockets, and Bob Clouse. He was a member of Moose Lodge #2543.
James married Shirley Senrud Menuey on Nov. 16, 1984, in Billings, Montana. She survives.
Other survivors include children: Cindy and Orion Bean, Henry (Hank) and Linda Menuey, Jonnie and Lynn Stewart, Richard (JR) and Renee Menuey, Daniel and Tina Menuey, Juanita Ann Fox; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; former wives, Janet and Anita.
A memorial service was held on Sept. 24, 2017. Funeral service will be held in Powel, Wyoming at a later date.
