Trent Roberson and Sarah Roberson Yates passed away earlier this year. To honor them there will be a combined memorial service held on June 24th, 2017 at 11 AM. The service will take place at the Salem Presbyterian Church 110 N. High Street, Salem, IN 47167

Trent Roberson, native son of Salem, Indiana, died February 19, 2017, in Hammond, Indiana. Trent grew up in Salem, later served in the Army, and then spent much of his work career selling sporting goods in the recreational fishing industry. In his later years he started his own internet development services company, FlashPort.net. His children will remember him for his phone calls about the weather whenever a storm was forecast near them and he was known for his sense of humor, love of fly fishing, the outdoors and good food. He enjoyed photography, cats and sharing his opinion about politics and society.

Sarah Roberson Yates passed away on April 12, 2017, in Louisville, KY. Sarah grew up in Salem and later moved to Louisville. Among her many achievements, Sarah contributed her historical research and writing talents to many installations of museums, historical sites, and visitor's centers both locally and across the country. Sarah loved her daughter, her dogs, her koi, the oxford comma, warm afternoons on her back porch reading a good novel and Sunday mornings. Sarah considered raising her daughter Mary as a single parent to be her most important accomplishment but making beauty and history available to the public is the wonderful, humanistic legacy her friends, family, and colleagues will remember her for.

They were proceeded in death by their parents parents Helen Persise Roberson and O.H. Roberson of Salem, IN. Trent and Sarah are survived by Trent's longtime companion and friend, Ellen Kuzniar of Hammond, Indiana. Trent's children, Elise Harding, of Lake Worth, Florida; Marjorie Roberson, of Washington, DC; and William Roberson of Plantation, Florida. Sarah's child Mary Yates, of Louisville, KY and Mary's husband Ron Jasin.
