James Ward Weir, Sr.

James Ward Weir, Sr., age 81 of Salem, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 3:05 pm, in Baptist Health Floyd New Albany.

Born September 11, 1939 in Scottsburg, Indiana, he was the son of the late Ward E. and Cletis Mae (Cuppy) Weir.

He retired from Cummins Engines and Haas Trucking Company and was a farmer.

He was a member of the Church of God in Scottsburg, had been a life resident of Washington and Scott Counties and was a 1957 graduate of Salem High School.

On August 24, 1957 he married Donna Lee (Loy) Weir, who survives.

Also surviving are: 5 Daughters: Sherri Sevier, Norma Vuckson, Julie White, and Peggy Vincent all of Salem and Terri Hounshell of Scottsburg;  2 Sons: James Ward Weir Jr. and Dennis Ryan Weir of Salem;  1 Sister: Sharon Miller of Scottsburg; 15 grandchildren, several step grandchildren, several great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

There will be private family services and interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.  Arrangements by Dawalt Funeral Home
