Richard Dickey

Richard Dickey, 60, Henryville, died at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Meadow View Health and Rehabilitation.

He was born Thursday, Aug. 4, 1960, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. He is the son of Leroy Andrew “Jack” Dickey ,who is deceased and Sylvia Lou (Zollman) Schlechty, who survives in New Albany, IN.

On July 24, 1980, he graduated high school from Big Bend Community College in Bad Kissingen, Germany.

Richard served in the United States Army. He enlisted on June 6, 1982, and was honorably discharged on June 9, 1984.

Richard was a former employee at Haas Cabinet Factory. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and his favorite driver was Jeff Gordan. Hewas a huge sports enthusiast. He enjoyed watching any type of sports, however his favorite teams to watch were IU basketball and the Indianapolis Colts. He liked 80’s genre music, rock-n-roll music, and classic rock.

Other survivors include his son, Ryan Wade Dickey of Minnesota; siblings, Diana Robinson, Salem, Brian (Gina) Dickey, Louisville, Terry (Kim) Dickey of Oklahoma, and Eric (Angela Shaughnessy) Schlechty of New Albany.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Adams Family Funeral Homes and Crematory in Henryville with burial to follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 10 a.m. until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
