Samuel E. Parks, Sr.

Samuel E. Parks, Sr., 90, Scottsburg, died April 15, 2021 at Scottsburg. He was born on Sept. 9, 1930 at Scottsburg, the son of Andrew Parks and Marie Yount Parks.

Samuel was a farmer and was employed with the old Parks & Son Feed Mill. He was a regular, ordering breakfast and drinking coffee at the former Hancock’s Drug Store local gossip cafe.

He attended Scottsburg schools and was a member of Vienna Baptist Church and International Order of Odd Fellows.

Survivors include his wife, Donna C. (Eacret) Parks; daughters, Paulette Parks Meeks and Pam (Tom) Goldsmith; sons, Steve Parks and Samuel E. (Myrna) Parks, Jr.; step-children, James Lee (Patricia) Berna, Maurica (Steve) Kimberlin, Johnny Berna; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; six step grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Cass and Rose Marie Atkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tommy Parks; two sisters, Anna Berna and Nancy Enteman; and a step-grandchild.

Visitation is Sunday from 11 a.m. to time of service at 1 p.m at Stewart & Hoagland Funeral Home in Scottsburg. Burial will follow at Scottsurg Cemetery.
